General

Are only travelling youngsters allowed at Camping de Zwinhoeve?

Camping de Zwinhoeve is a family campsite. Young people under the age of 21 are not permitted on the campsite without parental guidance.

Are pets allowed?

A maximum of two pets are allowed on the pitches. You pay a surcharge of € 4.00 per dog, per night.

In a number of chalets a maximum of 1 pet is allowed, for this you pay a surcharge of € 30,00 per period.

Can I charge my electric car at the campsite?

We do not have the option to charge electric cars at the campsite itself.

Just outside the campsite in the municipal car park there are 3 charging stations (4 charging options directly at the start of the campsite and 2 charging options further along the Duinweg).

Attention! You have to pay for parking between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., even when your car is charging!

Can family/acquaintances come to visit?

Visitors are always welcome.

If your visitors are staying overnight, we would like to know this in advance. The night register must then be updated, so we also need the visitor's name and date of birth.

This is permitted provided that the number of persons allowed is not exceeded, they pay € 4.30 per person per night + tourist tax at the campsite, in the chalets only the tourist tax is added.

Is barbecuing allowed on the pitch?

Barbecuing is allowed as long as it is done safely.

Is the campsite located near the beach?

The campsite is located directly on the North Sea beach, within 5 minutes you are on the beach.

Where can we park the extra car?

If you have an extra car, you can park it on the Duinweg (outside the campsite). This public car park belongs to the municipality. Please note that it is paid parking,

The municipality of Sluis charges € 2,- per hour and € 7,50 per 24 hours for this and checks regularly. You can pay contactless, with debit card or via your mobile phone (call parking).

Wifi

There is free wifi on the campsite. You can log onto 'Camping de Zwinhoeve' and do not need a password.

Camping

Are dogs allowed?

Dogs are welcome at Strandcamping de Zwinhoeve. A maximum of 2 dogs per pitch are allowed. In the chalets/lodges 502 to 506 a maximum of 1 pet is allowed.

To ensure that other guests can also enjoy their stay carefree, dogs must be kept on a leash at all times and may not be left alone on the campsite.

Are groups allowed on the campsite?

We are a family campsite and would like to maintain the small-scale and friendly atmosphere at the campsite. Groups larger than 10 people or more than 3 places are therefore not allowed on our campsite.

Are the private sanitary facilities on a luxury comfort pitch cleaned in between?

The private sanitary facilities are delivered clean upon arrival. In between these will not be cleaned.

Not even if you stay a long(er) period.

Can I register additional people?

A maximum of 6 people are allowed on a camping pitch.

The price is based on 2 persons. For each extra person you pay € 5.85 extra per night. Babies are also counted as a person, but up to the age of 2 you do not pay any extra costs.

We would like to know in advance the name and date of birth of all persons staying with you for our night register.

Digital television

You can only watch digital television. You do not have digital television? At the reception you can rent a Humax box for €20,- (if available).

Accommodations

Are bed linen and towels included in the price?

No, this is not included.

Bath towels can be rented for € 6,00 per package (towel and bath sheet).

Bed linen is € 8.00 per person. You have to make the beds yourself.

For a baby bed you always have to bring your own bed linen.

Are there rental properties suitable for disabled people?

No, there are no rental accommodations suitable for disabled persons.

Can we pitch an extra tent next to the chalet or annual pitch?

Additional tents and party tents are not allowed on the chalets and annual pitches.

Is bed linen provided in the chalet or lodge?

Yes, there are sufficient duvets and pillows available. The chalets have single mattresses and single duvets. You can rent the sheets and towels. Please inform us at least 1 day before arrival!

Is the chalet cleaned in between?

No, the chalet is delivered clean and there will be no cleaning in between. Not even if you stay for a longer(er) period.

Is the final cleaning of a chalet included in the price?

The cost of final cleaning is included in the price.
We ask you to empty the trash cans, put the dishes back in the cupboards and leave the chalet broom clean.

When you check out, please give us your bank account number so that we can return the deposit to you after we have checked it.

Is there a high chair or cot in a Zwin chalet or Zwin lodge?

There is always one high chair available. If you would like more, please let us know.

A cot does not fit in the bedroom of the chalet, but we do have a rack that you can place in front of the bed so that small children do not fall out of bed. A cot can be reserved free of charge.

Please note! The cot does not fit in the bedroom.

Arrival & departure

At what time can we check in?

You can enter the campsite from 1:00 PM, and you can check in for the Zwin lodges and Zwin chalets from 3:30 PM.

If you get there earlier, you can park your car (or camper, caravan) on the Duinweg. Of course you can take a look at the campsite, have something to eat or drink in our brasserie or go up to the dunes and to the beach.

NB!

When the weather is nice, it can be difficult to park or turn on the Duinweg, which is why we recommend using 1 p.m. as the arrival time for campers, so that you can be guaranteed immediate access to the campsite. You can only park for a fee on the Duinweg. You can do this with your parking app (Zone 36250) and you can pay with your Bankcard via the payment kiosk. The municipality of Sluis charges €2 per hour or €7.50 per 24 hours.

What time should we check out?

Checking out for the camping pitches no later than 11:00 am on the day you leave. If you want to stay longer, you can always visit the reception on the day of departure to ask if a late check-out is possible. This is of course only possible if the place after you is not occupied. 

If you have rented a Zwinchalet or a Zwinlodge, please check out before 10:00 am.

If you have rented a private chalet, you need to agree on the check-out time with the owner of the chalet.

Facilities & opening hours

Can I have my mail or newspaper delivered during my vacation?

The mail, newspapers and packages can be collected at the reception, when entering the reception there is a mailbox on the left where all mail is sorted alphabetically. When ordering always mention your seat number. If your package does not fit in the postbox, please ask the receptionist.

Is there a supermarket at the campsite?

There is a small supermarket on the campsite.

Sandwiches, croissants and delicious cookies are baked here fresh every day. You can also go there for 'forgotten groceries'.

You will find the supermarket by Food & Drinks in the snack bar, to the right of the brasserie on the outside of the campsite.

Consult the opening hours on the door.

What are the prices of the laundry?

You can use the washing machine and dryer by putting a credit on your Zwin pass (shower pass or slagboompas). The costs for the washing machine are € 6.00 per wash and € 3.00 for the dryer.

You can do this with cash at the kiosk outside the reception, if you want to pay with PIN you can top up your credit during the reception's opening hours.

The laundry is open from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

When is the entertainment team present at the campsite?

The entertainment team is present at our campsite during most school holidays. You can find the current programme on our website or Zwinhoeve App.

There you can find the periods with the programme of the animation team.

Coronavirus

Reservation & payment

I have made a reservation, but have not yet received a booking confirmation. What should I do?

The e-mail address may not have been entered correctly. Did you make a reservation, but did not receive a confirmation yet? Please feel free to contact us. You can do this by e-mail (info@zwinhoeve.nl) or by telephone (0031-117-392120).

What are the costs if I rent privately?

The annual guests who rent out their caravans privately each have their own rental fee. In addition to these costs, € 4.50 per person per night is charged.

These are overnight costs that you pay (in advance) to the campsite. This price includes tourist tax and use of the facilities.

Other

Are there walking/cycling routes near the campsite?

You can use the cycle network directly from the campsite. Cycle or walk through the dunes to Cadzand-Bad or via the Zwindijk to Knokke-Heist.

A bicycle junction map is available for free at the reception.

How far is the centre of Cadzand-Bad?

The centre of Cadzand-Bad is about 2.5 km from the campsite. Here you will find various shops such as a baker, supermarket, bicycle rental etc.

What attractions are there in the area?

There are several attractions in the vicinity of Zwinhoeve campsite, such as Speelboerderij de Pierewiet in Nieuwvliet, Struisvogelboerderij Monnikenwerve in Sluis, Family Fun Park Toversluis in Sluis, bunker park Groede Podium in Groede (free admission) or experience an adventure afternoon at Boerenhoeve in Nieuwvliet. The famous park Plopsaland in De Panne is a 1 -hour drive away. Or go to the Boudewijnpark in Bruges (dolphinarium and amusement park). Leaflets for inspiration or a Badkoerier are available at the reception.

Which nice towns and villages are in the vicinity of the campsite?

Strandcamping de Zwinhoeve is situated between Retranchement and Cadzand-Bad, both worth a visit. Retranchement is a small fortified town with real ramparts, nice for a nice walk, Cadzand-Bad is a modern seaside resort with a marina, luxury hotels and restaurants. 

Nice villages/cities in the area are the fishing village Breskens, tourist attraction Sluis, Oostburg has a large weekly market in the region on Wednesdays.

Just across the border you will find the fashionable seaside resort Knokke-Heist and at about 25 km from our campsite you will find the beautiful Bruges, one of the most beautiful cities in Belgium.
